After Operation

After the operation, the patient is transferred to an intensive postoperative room – RES, where he or she is taken care of until the stabilisation of his/her life functions.
The gradual termination of the artificial lung ventilation, the support of the heart function by drugs and infusions, blood transfusion, the monitoring of the function of kidneys, liver and lungs and cerebral functions. On average, a patient spends 1 – 2 days at RES, in more complicated performances up to a week.
The transport to the medium intensive care unit follows, where further treatment and rehabilitation are carried out and the patient gradually becomes self-sustaining. After 1 – 2 days the patient is moved to a standard room. The average period of the stay in hospital is 7 – 8 days, in more complicated performances 10 – 14 days. We recommend early spa cures to patients, which they are entitled to under the law.
